thorofon was founded in 1995, and soon developed an own easy-to-recognize style of the industrial music genre. their prolific career in the international post-industrial scene began with their first album in 1997, followed by three full length and several ep releases on cd, vinyl and cassette format until the project ended up nine years later. in 2010 thorofon announced to return and performed highly regarded live actions in germany, austria and switzerland.
'new heroes' was the third and last album by this project's first incarnation, released as a double lp by umb kollektif in 2005. a little less rough than its predecessors, thorofon introduced danceable rhythms on this release including classics such as 'gigamesh' and 'spermicide'. a certain pop feel is added to the harsh rhythms, also vocals by genevieve pasquier. for this re-issue, the band have chosen the best tracks from the vinyl album plus additional rare bonus tracks. the final step in our thorofon re-issue programme and again a must-have for everyone interested in classic industrial sound.
